Waking up to snow means the end of the regular cycling season for us. This season started with a broken fibula, two torn ligaments, two sprained ligaments, and a ruptured tendon. Somehow I still managed to meet every goal I set for myself and then some. See y'all after the thaw.

Saturday night I had the opportunity to ride along with a film crew doing a documentary about cycling across NYS. Can't wait to see the finished product!

Heads up for folks who use the Genesee Sports Complex parking lot for trail access. According to the city, you need to park in the lot closer to the building now. You know, the one that says it's for the building only and all others will be towed...

Nice day for a ride along the river trail.

For Earth Day the @rocrainbowriders.bsky.social were challenged to a "Trash-off" by our sibling group in Kentucky. Today five of us cleaned up 72 gallons of litter in less than an hour. Imagine what a difference we can make if we each spent just 5-10 minutes a week picking up litter.

kzl @qephatziel If you're hiding a friend in your attic, and his mortal enemy comes to the door and asks if he's there, the *question* is a lie. They're really asking "can I come in and kill your friend?" "No" is a completely truthful answer to that question. A lot of life works like this.

Do not comply with the executive orders in advance. Many of them will never go through. They'll be held up in courts for months or years.
Do not obey in advance. Most of the power of authoritarianism is freely given. In times like these, individuals think ahead about what a more regressive government will want, and then offer themselves without being asked. A citizen who adapts in this way is teaching power what it can do.
