You could put different things on the cards, but usually a one or two sentence spiel is enough to build a minion in an encounter around for us!

Well, since we're trying to remember how to post more regularly, why don't we offer a tip for something that our DM usually offers to players who don't take notes?
If a character should know something a player doesn't remember, offer them a history check!
