The last time they addressed it, they got quotes from Pixel about it not being an issue. Given everything else with nicalis though, that just makes it stranger.

Feels like it comes from how relatively early in indie games they worked with a game like that. Doesn't excuse how they handle it now.

Saw this a bunch with Cave Story. I played the nicalis translation first, so "Huzzah!" never stuck with me, but I know many people out there feel the opposite about it.

(I forgot to include the arcade archives release on Switch to that picture)

The solution is for me to not get stuck in those thoughts and widen my view to the options available, but man would it be easier if those difficulty views weren't so prevalent.

Every time I try dark souls, I still have problems getting the fake gamer out of my head telling me the solution is to get good or whatever. I understand now other solutions exist, but because it's mostly discussed as a hard game, that version still feels more real to me? I hate it.

People will see these headlines and donate assuming they'll be able to see and play these games afterwards. The seizure being wrongful doesn't mean we're entitled to the items that clearly shouldn't have got here. With SEGA directly involved now, preservation efforts may be better focused elsewhere.

I remember hearing about the fundraiser and the seize, but I had no idea they were related. Really changes the context of both. Seems like good advice to not get further involved.

There are some usb adapters that should make it possible, though the ones currently available would make it more expensive than if Nintendo made a standalone one. The symmetrical dual dpad design does add to the experience.

Seems like it was money issues. They put up a ton of pre-orders over a short period and most of them didn't sell out. The dual release Spica Adventure is now part of was most likely due to this.

Supposedly they got more funding and have a better production line now, though things are still slow.

That video definitely stuck in my head the first time I saw it, though it would be many years until I really knew what game it was from. Probably did get me more interested in the genre. The first game like that I remember having access to afterwards was Metal Torrent on DSi.

And when they add onto that by letting you move around the ship, it feels buttery smooth. I admittedly get confused by where the blocks are in the last section later on, but I can confidently squeeze between pillars in the second section while aiming at small targets. And that's all on one stick!

I love this game for how it handles the controls as well. Traditional analog sticks would either be a pain to aim the reticle with or too unwieldy to map 1:1. A mouse would be too precise like other on-rail shooters. The weight of the flight yoke is perfect for how the aiming is designed.

The speculation I've seen is that the HDMI chip used for the dock output is for HDMI 2.0, which doesn't support the standardized VRR newer displays would expect. I'm sure there was a cost saving or other reason they chose this over 2.1, but it is a bummer.

I've seen pictures of cursed cabinets with some of these. Can't imagine it's very usable.

Wish I could get a picture of the earliest one I encountered for you. It was pretty close to some you'll see today with bright unlicensed toys, flipping dogs, etc. The one I saw had this penguin one. I remember playing SMB with this title screen and the owner trying to get my parents to buy it.

Really hoping this release of Soldam FC actually comes out. Still sad about the Switch release that quietly got cancelled.

I had to replace the fan on mine after it started getting really loud. Not too difficult to open up, and you can replace the thermal paste as well to help. www.ifixit.com/Guide/Ninten...

Follow this guide to replace a broken or faulty fan in the Nintendo Switch game console. The Switch uses JIS screws, but you can use a Phillips...

There is some neat stuff in it. The first boss has a pacifist route that involves some tricky platforming that isn't immediately obvious. But then you also have things like part of the final boss being an autoscroller. It's mostly an ok video game, just doesn't live up to its namesake.

The occasional times something unique comes up that isn't a boss fight, it may just be a rehash of something from the first game.

It was one of the big things that made me sour on Gimmick 2. The original had something new on practically every screen that usually wouldn't return. The sequel gets more mileage out of its assets and can make larger levels and secrets, but loses the original's energy because of it.
