My panel, with no less than three SOUTHEAST Asians once again falls between the cracks. Do better AAS! (Also, are any of these even "ethnicities"?)

Just asked to pick a license option for my 800 word book review for the American Historical Review. My options were "Standard" which costs $0.00, or "Open Access" which costs $4,620. How is that even a choice? Also, how would my tiny review remotely be worth $4,620 . . .?

Love this blandly anodyne email from the UC President on the recent Dept. of Ed. "Dear Colleague" letter. The letter is an embarrassing screed of half-truths, incoherence, and illogical assertions and our university leadership is "assessing its impacts" instead of calling it out. Lovely.

CDC has been ordered to restore some LGBTQ info pages, but they now include this insane disclaimer, mixing irrational petulance with wildly unscientific claims. Unreal . . .

Meeting with Sen. Alex Padilla's (CA) staff this morning, and letting them know that we expect him to step up and push back against Trump's agenda, and to make it clear that Elon Musk cannot be allowed to interfere with any government operations.

Very happy to see that students from my nearby high school here in LA have walked out of class to stand up for themselves and their families in defiance of Trump's cruel anti-immigration actions.
