I find fish very relaxing, and while I have owned some more complex species (including a batch of Texan cichlids which, while beautiful, had a habit of switching between "have all the babies" and "I'll kill you all!"), I always fall back to goldfish. Could sit and watch them for hours.

Got a couple of Wedge-Tail Eagles hanging around. The chickens and ducks have learned to heed the local cockatoos' warnings.
