United by Flowers in 2024 recognized the community and connections that grow through shared gardening experiences. In 2025, Gardens of Tomorrow, of course, looked forward to what we might expect in future plants and garden design.

The Peace Rose was bred in France by Meilland International in 1942, and it has long been associated with the end of World War II. It was named the day that Berlin fell to the Allies and won honors from All American Rose Selections in 1946 on the day that the peace treaty was signed with Japan. That same day, members of the United Nations were presented with its blooms.

The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society has released its list of the 10 top gardening trends of 2026. They encompass indoor and outdoor trends, from growing cut flowers and fruit, to using AI in the garden and installing gardens that benefit the environment and support important ecological functions. Andrew Bunting, VP of Horticulture at PHS, says "Gardening continues to evolve as people explore new ways to connect with nature, express creativity, and grow food and beauty in their own spaces." He adds, "From innovative houseplant displays and water-wise gravel gardens to cutting-edge AI tools and rewilding practices, the 2026 trends reflect how gardeners are experimenting, learning, and finding joy in every corner of their gardens." The Contemporary Garden by Phaidon editors (Phaidon Press Inc.) is a comprehensive survey of today's modern gardens and the designers and landscape architects who created them. Three hundred entries spanning the globe will introduce you to people and places you've never imagined.
