"A Prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people."
-- The Declaration of Independence

Retired Soldier, Lawyer, Husband, Father
They weren't needlessly in harm's way. That narrative accepts the premise that DC is a violent place that needed Soldiers to be made safe. There was and continues to be no reason to have Soldiers on American streets.

Giving her this attention is disgusting.

That's awesome, and it's not corny, and if it was corny, let's have more like it.

That sums up my feelings as well. It felt like a weak attack on a strong prosecution, but her response somehow made it effective.

Actually, I'll bet there's a good chance some of his victims were undocumented. They have an added level of vulnerability that makes them a target for evil men like him.

I was in the Army for 29 years, with over 25 as a JAG officer. So this is pretty easy for me and I'm happy to share my knowledge. Trump, Hegseth, and those expressing outrage at what was said either don't know what they are talking about or are deliberately misleading people.

Knowing the UCMJ empowers soldiers to understand their legal obligations and to know that they do not have to follow illegal orders, and in fact must not follow those that are "patently" illegal, i.e. to kill unarmed civilians. Nothing that was said contradicts this foundational legal principle.

The enlisted oath, unlike the officer oath, does include this provision: "I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me."

However, only applies to lawful orders. See Article 90, 92, UCMJ.

This line is not accurate: "a law barring retired service members from issuing orders to active duty soldiers." 10 USC 688 simply allows retired service members to be recalled. Doesn't say anything about them giving orders to active duty service members.

At this point, just let them be partisan shitweasels and retire. That sends a message and will destroy the GOP majority. Better than them staying and continuing to back MAGA legislation.

Miller can't even get the Judge's gender right.

Second only to Minecraft is pretty unbelievable as far as Minecraft is concerned.

It wasn't Trump's plan, it was Putin's.
November 23, 2025 at 4:15 PM
None. Not a single great legal scholar agrees with Trump.

Do you have a non pay walled version?
November 23, 2025 at 12:52 AM
I think she thinks it's a principled stand. She wants to send a message. This sends a bigger one than simply not running again.

Or maybe he moves into the WH with Trump to keep training him in how to be a good person.

Odds are strong that most would have pretended to know or just made up an answer. Pretty cool to see someone admit they don't know what something means and take the opportunity to learn it.
