Probably should have replaced the "E pluribus unum" too. 😉

Team was completely uninspired from the kick off, showed absolutely no desire or commitment. Despite that, Amorim failed to sub until the 63rd minute, which means he accepted that attitude from his team. He talks the talk but doesn't have the balls to act on it.

I am not sure I'd agree that Manchin is 45-50% (median?) progressive/conservative. I'd suspect he is more like 60% (more conservative than a slight majority of americans, many of whom don't vote). But that said, the important part is that in his home state, he was way more progressive than median.

It will be pharaoh Trumps mausoleum, and based on the historic precedent, we might have to lock the rest of the administration in with him and seal it when he is put away there.

One might call it, the Reconstruction...?

Trump being the bully that he is, he is always going to side with the strong against the weak. So this might be indicative of the intelligence reports he is getting on Russia, and that they are getting through to him? Or it could just be that Zelensky did, somehow.

Very harsh yellow but the way he went into that blatant foul when it was completely unnecessary should not be happening with a player with his experience...

RFK Jr is a crank, but Fructose isn't Sucrose, and consuming large amounts of HFCS is more harmful than similar amounts of Table Sugar. We don't need to subsidize corn just so it can poison us.

Agreed... I really like Bluesky but seeing the bandwagoning militants with their extreme views from time to time does not help. I figure I will probably end up blocking/muting those over time, but the way they present like they own the platform at times can't help but leave a sour taste.

Correct me if I am wrong, but technically, the ones violating the law are the app-store providers (Apple & Google), and the justice department is just refusing to enforce the law/ignoring it...? Which in turn gives Trump additional leverage over those companies if he wanted it at some point?

The word left appears twice in that exchange. That's probably all the evidence the right needs. *facepalm* (Yes, both in the context that he "left" his rifle, but you know...)

I get trying to protect health care... but I don't see how they can sign off on anything that funds ICE, much less the bulked up monstrosity they are trying to turn ICE into now. Defunding Trump's thugs should be their #1 priority in any attempt to negotiate.

Clearly, the problem is the Americans that are too spoiled. Presumably, they are all liberals/democrats too. He needs Trump to whip them into shape so they'll be made to work. Maybe a work camp would solve the issue for him.

(Odds are this is exactly how they reason, sadly)

Could you please create a playlist with all your live streams on YouTube and mark it as a Podcast? This will make it available in YouTube Music's Podcasts, and also help the algorithms... helping you, and helping those of us following you on Google's platforms.

That's part of the "joke" here. To a pedophile like Epstein, a girl loses her value when she develops into a young woman (16, 17, 18, 19) because he is attracted to girls. So, they "fully depreciate" at that point. If he then "sells" the asset with $0 value, that is all "profit", thus good business.

More details than you can put in one message, but applied to financial assets, real estate (except primary residence), art, collectables, etc. Just report value at start and end of year, average them, and if no actual yield/income generated, assume a 4% yield to add to income for taxes.
August 23, 2025 at 10:43 PM
Taxing unrealized gains is silly (since it would force you to sell portions of performing assets if they were a large part of your portfolio, to pay taxes), but what about a reasonably implemented wealth tax, for instance a 4% assumed annual yield on all assets that is taxed like/added to income?

Technically, it's "State Capitalism" which is more aligned with what China does, than with communism. Not that MAGAs would know the difference.

Capitulation is when the cost of fighting on is too great relative to the cost of surrendering/giving up the fight. Collaboration is when you recognize that it benefits you to work with the opponent, even if maybe its not what you'd prefer to do in their absence. For most, collaboration fits better.
August 10, 2025 at 4:26 PM
I think you are actually too positive about the decision the elites by and large appear to have made, when you describe it is capitulation... It is better described as collaboration, overall... which unfortunately worsens the assessment even further.

It is my understanding that land or water border in this context also includes any "port of entry" including inland ports and international airports... making the area of the country that can be included in this even larger. Is that inaccurate?

There's been a misunderstanding. He was all for calling trans parents pedophiles. Not calling for being transparent about pedophiles. It's easy to see how one would get them mixed up.

"The letters are the deals"... that is their idea of getting to those 90 "deals" it seems. 🙃

Infrastructure should always be nationalized as it is a natural monopoly. The free market friendly structure is one where the state owns the infrastructure, and the carriers pay for the right to use it... that way, the carriers can compete freely on the market. Same with utilities, internet, etc.

Sure, it would be naive to rule out a descent towards any level of evil when it comes to this administration. But the current reality is awful enough without needing to strawman and catastrophize it into the worst possible eventual outcome. Concentration camps are bad enough as is.
