Drawn to a patch and vis mig.
I know Little Egrets have been with us for 40 yrs or so now, but, I'm sorry, the sight of 4 with a Great White on the marsh at Fleet Pond this evening is still insane to me (esp as the 1st here was found by my non- birder father-in-law in 1982) #UKBirding #Hantsbirds

Pleased to win the overland Little Gull lottery at Fleet Pond this morning with 5 through E, topped off by an Osprey N just as I was about to leave. My 1st here in spring for many years. So easy to miss. #hantsbirds #UKBirding

East Britain beginning to see some hirundines with 1st Swallow & House Martin at Fleet Pond this morning, also 2nd rec of (5) Sand Martin of the spring. Very different to our western 'neighbours' enjoying 100s for over a month now. A brief change in weather doing the trick. #HantsBirds #UKBirding

Good numbers of Brent Geese on the move E off Sandy Point this morning in light E/SElys. 580 up to 1135, including superb flocks of c.200, 90 & 70 low over the sea close to the beach. #hantsbirds #UKbirding

Chaffinches on the move over Fleet pond this morning (68E once I started to focus skywards) but no other visible migration. Always a treat, though, to hear the last of the Redwing (10+) singing in the woods before their imminent departure to Scandinavia. #Hantsbirds #UKBirding

Epic numbers of raptors in the air today over chalk download in NE Hants; difficult to estimate but at least 40 Buzzard & 30 Red Kite, plus a few Kestrel & Sparrowhawk and single Goshawk & Peregrine. #Hantsbirds

Fleet Pond, Hants; 6 Chiffchaffs this morning. All silent so presumably passage birds. Still surprised by these ever earlier arrivals. #UKBirding #HantsBirds
