But it’s not a new restriction, so your statement “there goes free movement” doesn’t stack up. You need ID to fly today. Come Wednesday the only change is that id needs to meet some extra criteria, but it’s probably met those for years.

Now, if you have certain designs of Colorado licenses, it might not work in the TSA scanners and they’ll try to tell you its invalid, but that has nothing to do with RealID and is a whole other story.

And yeah - if your ID is less than 5 years old, it’s probably fine. Look for the star symbol on it.

The only thing that has changed is the design of the ID you have to show, and, in most cases, not even that because most states have been issuing RealID compliant licenses for years now.

Really? They’ve postponed its introduction repeatedly over several years, and there have been signs about it in every airport for years.
