They may be separate companies but both are owned by the same person, which means that at the top level, hoyo supports ai. Even if you disregard anuttacon, MiHoyo is still partnered with Nvidia for generative AI.

The whole topic is based on Mihoyo’s reluctance to sign the interim agreement😂. No goal post is shifted if I refer to Hoyo’s projects which utilize the thing they won’t sign off against. Media literacy has to be low if you think Mihoyo means Genshin Impact.💀

You just moved the goalpost. First it was “Hoyo will never use AI instead of humans” and now it “Hoyo will not replace a voice actor with an ai for a project”.

Sag isn’t god, they can’t make it so companies won’t use ai ever. Hence why they’ve signed deals with AI companies for consensual and compensational AI usage. I don’t like it, but Pandora’s box has been opened already.

Mihoyo already utilizes AI voices in some of their projects. Like this YouTube channel featuring their character Lumi youtu.be/m0lztaRC8FQ?... Hoyo is also partnered with Nvidia for ai, and Cai Haoyu has a gen Ai game under the brand Anuttacon. The strike is not for an “If” but a when.

There’s no legal codified AI protections for foreigner voice actors that work with Mihoyo. The Chinese laws only apply to China and can still be circumvented by using Hoyoverse in Singapore which has no such AI laws AFAIK. SAG is objectively the only way to give eng VA’s legal protection for AI.

Nintendo still offers repairs for 2DS systems, but it’s a bit pricy at around $60 dollars. If you’re ever up for repairing it yourself it’s 1 big screen and should be easy to install. I’d also ask around on Reddit to see if maybe there might be an easier fix like reinserting the display cables.
