EU FOM may be an easier sell than previous.

Firstly it impacts Brits specifically - much harder to retire to Benidorm or Normandy v previous.

Second, EU migration will be seen now brexited -like it or not - as preferable to non EU migration as culturally more similar.

Think it is easier sell now

Until the next scattergun speech from one of the US top brass

Honestly - it won't last long.

Been trawling the Internet for govt. action to improve litter & in particular motorways/main roads

i see nothing

Roads are disgusting

Contractor signage/cones left, mass litter, silt& grit

Roundabouts, slip roads & verges an absolute state. Crashed into & filthy signs

KBT - know anything?

They are hardly "surging" in the polls. Theyare topping polls but tgey are certainly not surging

Also amazing this clown voted and backed Brexit - a catastrophic event that did the exact opposite it's backers suggested and led to a massive increase in immigration and specifically non EU immigration as predicted

@gavinwhite76.bsky.social - thanks for focus on this.

Can something be done about roadside & m/way verges, roundabouts & slip roads? They're utterly disgusting & an embarrassment. Left contactor cones & signage, tyres, hgv parts & litter.

Public realm in euro countries Not this bad.

Why do Reeves & Starmer seem intent in p%ssing off every cohort out there. I'm so desperate for them to succeed & they've been dealt dreadful hand & need to make tough choices.

But their political nouse is bereft.

Paving the way for reform in instances like this by way of the Greens ...

I might even start watching it.

Pru Kruger held very little appeal.

When ever a rw hack trots out the line -"Whisper it" head down to tge bookies and get out your chequebook.

Rich pickings will be heading your way.

This week could turn out to be a key week for the UK beyond the next election.. Tories looking mildly sane - first time in a long time.

Also I always thought Trump is a blind spot for Farage - he is just 1 yr in

Oh thats good...thats very good and could catch.

If it is so politically unpalatable to have so much non EU immigration- surely there should be political space to have some more EU immigration
January 4, 2026 at 11:38 AM
Think extent of Starmer criticism is ludicrous. But if was to put it down to one thing its his inability to engage/build a relationship with voters.

No. of things: poor at political strategy & comms, lacking group of supporters in country/party, pisses people off when no supportive group. Wooden.

Not sure totally agree. I have a theory the anti London thing & also general doing UK down on countless Youtube/FB videos.

Plus bad faith actors such as Carlson.

Would not surprise if states such as Russia, Iran & China are pumping ouy/paying for a lot of this stuff to destabilise the UK & west

There's the rub for who? Starmer or Farage?
December 22, 2025 at 8:27 AM
This is the problem.with such poor gov. policy. & by government mainly mean Tories. No phasing out of FOM (after a pandemic), then open gates to millions of non EU citizens to mask economic impacts of Brexit.
Don't disagree that something needed to be done but danger is another immigration shock
December 21, 2025 at 7:21 PM
After the mad scale of non EU immigration to UK since 2021 - so called Boris wave - surely a narrative to be had FOM a good thing.

Staring the govt. in face yet they seem to go out of their way to dispelled it. Even if they don't do it - should be rolling the pitch.

Brexit is such a disaster
December 21, 2025 at 2:09 PM
Bizarre that local labour councillors went against so many locals on this.

Given the govt. polling and virtual monopoly labour has had on MCC for years, remains to be seen how politically expedient this decision will turn out to be.
December 18, 2025 at 11:58 PM
All for develop. at this site. However scale & height of this build is ridiculous.

MCC deserve credit for much development in the city over last decade.

However also fair share of v poor planning decisions. Lidl store amongst 4 schools, tram track & a dual cattiageway is one - this is another.
