“I received military orders as a soldier, and my purpose naturally was to carry out these military tasks. Whether the leadership of the State was thereby politically waging an aggressive war or not, or whether they were protective measures, was not for me to decide…”

When you are opposed to affirmative action, but in reality you support it because you don't even know what it is.

The irony of writing this on a device that could not have existed without the work of intellectuals…

When they are confronted on the idea that the tariffs are not reciprocal, they bring the ‘it’s a negotiation tactic.’

Sigh
April 4, 2025 at 4:53 AM
So, people in Trumpistan are using the ‘it is reciprocal’ defense for the tariffs.

I would bet thousands that being a successful influencer and having general knowledge about history, politics, and current events are inversely related.

She is one Google search away from getting the facts right on this... why?

"Comrades, temporary challenges are proof of our unwavering commitment to MAGA! The Democrats conspire against us, but together, with sacrifices to our savings, global reputation, and moral standing, we shall overcome. Trust the leader, trust the plan, trust Trump!"

Somehow, we’ve collectively orchestrated a society that hands the mic to the most braindead morons in existence for news and commentary.

Sometimes, the best strategy upon realizing you’ve been supporting one of the biggest idiots to ever exist for president is to double down and spew even more asinine nonsense.

Trump seems to believe tariffs apply to fentanyl... The U.S. would be better off if a random person on the street were president.

Was Shermer always like this, or something happened to him?

If one connects the stupid tariffs Trump is imposing with his blatant scams (his meme coins, crypto reserve, and frivolous lawsuits against companies), the image that emerges is one where he is trying to be able to control business that mostly work only within the US.

Apparently, MAGA is making fun of their own because they mistook progressive commentator Sam Seder as a conservative arguing against a progressive (who is, in reality, a conservative).

It's hard to recognize your positions when they reduce to defending whatever Trump says or does.

Best prediction about Trump's second term.

They have received almost all the money granted by the contract, and they have not delivered any of the main steps necessary to deliver the moon lander. No rapid orbital reuse, no cryogenic storage, no orbital refueling, no extended live support, no deep space engine reliability...

This "historical precedent" seems superficial.

For the Korean war, the US was employing about 350 billion dollars per year (adjusted for inflation), had 130,000 casualties, and was pushing for armistice with the presence of US troops (that are still there!).

It never ceases to amaze me how little you have to know and how little your reasoning capabilities need to be in order to become a successful pundit in alternative media.

Some argue that they are staying on X because they want to reach and persuade many people there. What they overlook, however, is that they are trying to win over minds in a game that has been rigged for a long time.

Does anyone know this Twitter account? The profile claims, 'I write about genetics, metrics, and demographics,' but while it gives the impression of expertise in data and statistics, every time I look closely at something he writes, I find bs.
