Let us be clear as to what is going on. Trump is NOT now in favor of Ukraine. He has business deals with Russia but needs the sanctions lifted.. Needs the war to end. All this talk of Ukraine getting land back etc is just pressure on Putin so their deal can proceed.. Nothing has changed.

Not having Putin look for a ceasefire now has the potential to see him lose the war entirely and the Russians expelled from all of Ukraine. Attacking Russia means of support and income is the way to achieve it. Bring Russia to its knees.

I actually agree with Trump on this one. China is helping Russia stay in the war and is a big part of the problem. Trump has a difference agenda as to why he wants China targeted but that does not change the facts.

There is still time but it seems to me to be fast closing. Eventually the state will be molded to punish (physically) anyone who opposes. Open windows will become dangerous.

I think the meeting was actually a business meeting. Putin offering Trump various business deals not unlike he would have with Russia's various oligarchs. The KGB in Putin would know how to get someone as weak minded and self serving as Trump on side.

I can't see it being a dangerous gamble as Russia is all in on Ukraine now, well as far as Putin is able to go without turning into glass himself. Ukraine is limited by what it can do and this sort of thing, I think, is the best use of resources and will apply real pressure on Putin.

Ley could say anything and the ABC would have it as a headline for a week.
