New pub in ACSChemNeurosci comparing 5-HT1A & 5-HT2A activities & target profiles of #5MeODMT analogs

Variable activities at 1A/2A modulated #psychedelic -like effects in mice, and 1A preferring hybrid 1A/2A drugs may have attenuated subjective effects in humans.

Thrilled to share the final product for an excellent collaboration with A. Sherwood & co at Usona Institute 😎.

Extending norpsilocin by a single methyl group to N-ethyl is sufficient for psychedelic-like activity in mice. Full story & SAR linked below:

A really nice synopsis of our recently published study on lisuride vs LSD from Derek Lowe for "In The Pipeline" 😎

An LSD Comparison
LSD itself, then, is not a natural product. And neither is the compound to the right of it - that's lisuride, which was synthesized in the early 1960s. A lot of work has been done on this chemical framework, and lisuride itself has been marketed as a drug over the years for migraine and several other indications. It has no hallucinogenic effects, though.

The chronobiologist in me wants to highlight the importance of the Dictionary.com word of the day yesterday. Zeitgebers matter for all biological research.

Many ignore the influence of zeitgebers in biomedical research - contributing to the replication crisis and misleading future research.
