For me it is as much about free speech and amendment 1 as anything. Money makes all corporate ventures weak and vulnerable. I chose not to support an organization that doesn't care enough.

I'll try to give a quick rundown.
1. Some lunatic killed Charles Kirk.
2. Jimmy Kimmel planned some innocuous remarks about it that were not fully reverential of the new conservative saint.
3. Affiliates protested.
4. ABC Disney capitulated in advance and put Kimmel's show on hiatus.
