We're organizing another Designathon in the Bitcoin Design Community, from May 4-18. Should be fun.

It was a pleasure presenting the Open Design Guide (opendesign.guide) last week at FOSS Backstage with @erioldoesdesign.bsky.social. It's an effort to provide a smoother path into open-source for designers. Interestingly, there were 3 other talks at the conference that brought up the same problem.

Summer of Bitcoin applications are open. We're helping organize a design track again via Bitcoin Design, like the last two years. Take a peek. summerofbitcoin.org

New page about Human-Readable Addresses ("bitcoin emails" 😀) is live in the Bitcoin Design Guide (focusing mostly on BIP-353 and Lightning Address). Take a peek and let me know what you think. bitcoin.design/guide/how-it...

The Saving Satoshi case study in the Bitcoin Design Guide is live. It provides lots of background about this unique and ambitious project. I'm super thankful to and proud of everyone who chipped in (you're all ₿OSSes).

Here's a visual for a planned transaction visualizer in the Bitcoin Core App (Sparrow-inspired). Does that look useful to you? You can also try the work-in-progress web prototype: lively-kashata-cfde7e.netlify.app/screen/coin-...

We've had over 400 calls in the Bitcoin Design Community since the inception mid-2020. About 250 those are recorded and on YouTube & BitcoinTV. Creating video covers is always a fun exercise.

Chapter 4 is live for Saving Satoshi, where you learn how to write code for deriving an address from a private key. The team is already busy with chapters 5 (message verification) and 6 (constructing transactions). t.co/3XZln48Kpu

Some rendering for indian sci-fi bitcoin miners in 2139, for Saving Satoshi. More controlled prompts at the top left, getting more loose and wild further down. Can't use any of those, but exploring the possible range is pretty important and then leads to "the right one".

Slides are ready for BTC Prague. One slideshow for the Bitcoin Design expo booth, a presentation on the Bitcoin Core App, and another one around AI art. Should be fun.

Accessibility awareness day is over. We had a nice event in Bitcoin Design yesterday with lots of interest and quite a few teams participating. We also included the topic in the Bitcoin Design card game.

Needed some made-up bitcoin company & logos for a design mock-up. AI to the rescue. Here we have The Bitcoin Emporium, Satoshi's Secret Stash, Bit-o-rama, and (my favorite) Blockchain Boogie. AI language is such an interesting phenomenon, but good enough for a quick mock.

First post here. Let's see how this works. I'll just post something fun I worked on this week, a 404 page background for Saving Satoshi (http://savingsatoshi.com). Holocat got lost.
