(By the way, episcobot is still struggling mightily with the question “What are today’s lectionary readings?” Specifically because it thinks today is June 22, 2025.)

Honestly, this is one my favorite church buildings in the entire world, in every season. What an odd thing to be the Rector.

I randomly took the photo on the left yesterday to replace the one on the right on our website, after our administrator pointed out it was a bit snowy for September.

Tried the new “EpiscoBOT.” I don’t think I need to throw out my diploma yet, chat. (Or my calendar, I guess.)

Oh nice, thanks! So, in other words, the 2025 results for proficient scores in Holy Scripture (73%) are identical with the 23-year median (73%) and average (72.5%), and overall there's a very slight trend higher over time.

About a day and a half, then! (There is, indeed, an app for *everything*)

Guys you just need to be better at prompt engineering. The key thing is to project confidence here. No, a computer can’t tell you the year. Don’t be silly. But a computer can pick up on the confidence *you* have about what year it is and isn’t that what matters in the end?

For my first Narthex ⚓ post: Our Holy Tuesday Renewal of Vows with our Lutheran colleagues began with a procession across Boston Common this year.

Great example of AI slop stuffed into everything. These are three suggestions for replies to an email with the subject line "Oops...here's the attachment"

2 of the 3 are about the beauty of the quote in the email signature. The other one nonsensically says "Let me know if you need anything else."

This chart is called “these are much bigger tariffs than investors were expecting.”

See this break through to the #2 stop on the front page of Fox is pretty surreal honestly, after seeing how bifurcated the media have become over the last decade. It gives you a sense for how huge this is.

Wait sorry @nytimes.com but did you *mean* to say that ordinance disposal would be “a bigger problem” than the mass ethnic cleansing of Gaza or…?

Here was my spreadsheet based on last year's questions.

It's possible to use this by saying "well, here's a guessed average for each bucket" but I can guarantee the answers here overall are just going to be based on vibes, not arithmetic

Some of the stats are off (e.g., pretty sure this is the total number of stars on your repos, not total in 2024) but this is fun.

It's hard to believe it's been just about 5 years since I first shared the original version of Venite with a few seminary friends. They have been hard years, in this world.

Now there are > 1000 people using the app on any given day.

What a joy to be able to send some light into a dark world!
