obv idk whats going on in hoyo headquarters and i dont know if they can afford to delay the dev cycle but it would be good to get a couple new writers to focus on character shilling specifically before we do any "major heavy plot stuff" before like

its also bc they need to shill a certian characte for their patch (cyrene or phainon being the most prominent of the bunch) so they have to find a way that works in the story for them too resulting in the disjointedness of 3.0-3.4 and then 3.5-3.7

the hoyo property that does this the best imo is zzz but they very rarely (if ever) do more than 2 patches back to back for a story and that makes the story in of itself really tight/coherent even if it doesnt have any longer lasting implications

live service games are inherently difficult to write so unless you haev the entire arc written out in advance you cant really afford to do more than 2-3 patches at once imo
