I see this all too often, smaller companies bring in, train and nurture, then bigger ones swoop and steal them away. Then they become another number on a sheet and not developed further, let go, or leave from boredom

Resourcing. Poor investment in personnel and training can leave you short on quality or falling behind. Invest in people, train and retain #AVinTheAM

A “showcase” piece in any project can help sell the story, but the “Best Picture” award is sought more than Best Sound, Best VFX etc. All parts are important, but come together to make a masterpiece. No one says “great movie, couldn’t hear anything..” #AVTweeps #AVinTheAM

#HigherEd have been using immersive spaces for some time now, blending real and virtual. UK HE has increased focus on VP/Movie Production & the knowledge sharing that comes with it. ISE demonstrated how this can fit within our current AV world, as tech converges we become more diverse #AVinTheAM

AI could help interpret gestures to actions, just like bridge speech to action,we’re closer than before, but there’s little “universal” language we share for this, beyond touch actions (pinch2zoom etc). But, whats the point? Whats the universal “nothing is working, help” gesture? #AVTweeps #AVinTheAM

1-2 years of AI before it becomes as normal as other features, but it’s going to improve our workflows for the better.
AVoIP will rage on for longer, with IPMX more present next year. Audio will improve will AI.
AVaaS…more software platforms dominating, not sure about Hardware-aaS #AVinTheAM

The amount of people I know in AV that “don’t get audio” is shocking, so it gets neglected (good enough). As processing power gets cheaper and the use AV-AI, devices are built ready to close that knowledge gap, improving solutions #AVinTheAM

The Lang display was obviously visually impressive & showed a simple but creative implementation that makes an impact. I thought last year there were more real world uses. Cost will be the barrier for implementation, & cheaper solutions will lead to negative opinion, so still a way off #AVinTheAM

#ISE2025 is essential for me, I can get so much done in 3-4 days, inside & outside the show. However, it’s too big for 1 person to cover thoroughly. Smaller, regional targeted events still have a place for both ISE visitors and others to attend. Smaller, regional shows are more accessible #AVinTheAM

Mine biggest point wasnt the tech, but the communities around the UK coming together, stronger together. Not just HE/EndUsers. Our communities extend beyond those and we support each other, no competition or segregation. I am biased though #AVinTheAM

A Personal Note

ISE is long, tiring, & takes us away from home. But having real mates in this industry makes it easier.
Last year was tough; this year, I was reminded again how lucky I am. My social battery is drained, but my heart is full.

Clear buttons = clear instruction.
Gestures can work but only when they come naturally.
Same with voice - what to say, where to say it all open to interpretation, AI can solve those now.
Buttons won’t go away, but automated control and AI and machine learning will improve use #AVinTheAM
