He wasn't quite Reggie Blinker but what a player he was. Given the state of Wednesday now I reckon he'd still make the squad

Given over 20000 were children, I find that hard to believe

I know it is not the same as institutional racism and would never imply it is. I simply oppose discrimination in any form and I think to assume only a particular group can experience a particular kind of discrimination sets a dangerous precedent

In the U.K, probably neither, maybe both. In this scenario would any answer make either of our actions less racist or just imply the system is also racist?
October 8, 2025 at 1:28 PM
So now I've been victimized by a racial group I can now act towards anyone from that racial group with impunity because they have the same skin colour. I'm not sure how you can call me a racist for saying simply that anyone acting unduly towards anyone else based solely on skin colour is racist
October 8, 2025 at 1:01 PM
You are talking about national oppression, I'm not saying there are "white" countries that have been subjected to the same horrors. I'm saying on an individual basis it is categorically possible for white people to experience racism.

Can you imagine for a second the outcry that would come if that was asked if any person from any other ethnic group. You are proving in your actions that racism exists in every direction.
October 8, 2025 at 12:39 PM
So, not that I ever would, but if I make a racial insult towards someone with a different skin colour is that racist?
I've never had a leg up from anyone
October 8, 2025 at 12:36 PM
Being called racial slurs and threatened with violence based solely on ethnic origin is though.
October 8, 2025 at 12:34 PM
So as a white person if I am walking through a majority Asian area & a person of Asian descent confronts me with racial insults and threats of violence for no reason other than I am white...that's not racism?
October 8, 2025 at 12:27 PM
You are making wild assumptions.
A. White people can be victims of racism & I have been
B. I was referring to time I spent in Jordan, seeing Jordanians violently kick Egyptians and refuse to let them share communal spaces

To imply white people cannot be victims of racism is kind of racist FYI
October 8, 2025 at 12:20 PM
Some of the worst racism I've seen has been in majority brown countries. I think more accurately if you live near people, you live near racists

Incredible how many players sustain "minor injuries" around international windows. Why not just be honest & say your priority is club football
October 8, 2025 at 11:37 AM
There is a huge spectrum between the 'poor' and the 'rich' though. Assuming, as with current schemes, said money needs to be repaid then there is no real incentive for the 'rich' to use it.
P.S I'm in no way voting Tory

I'm not well off. When I had my 2nd child my childcare was more than my wage, I was working 100 hours weeks at times to make ends meet. I'm better off now thanks to said help & hopefully my kids will be better off still if I can help them. Why not help all first time buyers?
October 6, 2025 at 2:09 PM
Agreed in theory however surely these things can exist simultaneously. Make housing cheaper, there are numerous ways to do this, whilst also providing support to help people buy houses.
October 6, 2025 at 1:59 PM
And so the government shouldn't offer it?
October 6, 2025 at 1:41 PM
Buying a first house with a bit of help from the government isn't competing with oligarchs though is it. I used a government scheme to buy my first house & I'm very grateful for that helping hand. Hopefully if my kids need it there will be a similar scheme to give them a bump up too
October 6, 2025 at 1:23 PM
True, I appreciate some are much less fortunate. I would say many could afford to put money into savings rather than buy stuff. We don't eat out, don't holiday overseas. I'd just rather look for solutions than blame the system. Making people feel helpless does little to empower them to find change.
October 6, 2025 at 1:07 PM
Where does this fallacy come from that only the middle class can afford things? I am very working class ..... I also started saving for my kids future the day they were born, both have ISA's funded with their child allowance and both have pensions that I pay a modest amount in to.

As far as I understand, the victims were hit through a door they were holding shut as the perpetrator was attempting entry. A tragic accident but thankfully, due to our gun laws, one that is rare

The adult is probably still terrified, just now terrified what's happening to their baby who's been removed for our entertainment
October 3, 2025 at 11:51 AM
Are we not already there? If you have a passport, driving licence, NI number, NHS number, bank account, rewards cards, are registered to vote then there's pretty much nothing they don't already know about you. I can't see as having it all in one place makes it any more concerning.
