“I was drugged!” “... What?!” “Oh, yes! I have to give it to the little bastards, it was quite the surprise,” Alastor says casually, brushing invisible dust off his sleeve. “Wh–... drug–... how?! You’re the Radio Demon?!” “Mmn, yes, quite so. Most impertinent, wouldn’t you say? They’re all dead now, of course, but how does the saying go… too little, too late.” “Okay, okay, wait. Drugged with what?!” Angel sits down on the edge of his bed, staring up at Alastor. Fuck, maybe Alastor doesn’t even know, if he’s not used to what’s on offer in Hell. Alastor’s ears twitch. He twirls his cane, the perfect picture of togetherness, unless you’ve actually been watching. Alastor’s freaking out. It’s starting to freak Angel out. Alastor doesn’t freak out. “My dear, if I knew that I wouldn’t be standing here with you.” Oh. Right. Yeah, Mr. Radio Demon, strongest sinner in hell, who doesn’t do drugs or fuck or any other normal thing, who doesn’t know what he’s been drugged with. Angel rubs his hands over his face and uses his heel to shove Fat Nuggets back under the bed in case Alastor starts losing his shit again. “Okay, start from the beginning, Smiles. Don’t spare the details.”

Angel stops as Alastor snarls, planting his feet and holding his hand out to stop Alastor’s advance with his heart hammering in his chest. “--Yes, you are! Look, Alastor, I don’t give a shit what y' took, okay? I’ll hook you up if y' want more, whatever, I won’t tell Charlie or anyone or anythin’ if you’re really so messed up about this, but it’s just a trip. It ain’t gonna last forever. You don’t need to go all Radio Demon on my ass just ‘cause I clocked you’re juiced outta your mind.” Alastor, to his credit and to Angel’s great relief, stops advancing a few inches from Angel’s outstretched hand. Angel watches Alastor just breathe for a second. It’s sharp and shallow, and this close Angel can smell something like sweat on him. He didn’t even know Alastor could sweat. It’s kind of hot, in a slightly musky animal way. Alastor’s eyes are flickering, not fixing on anything, his shadow frozen in a snarl before it whips away back into nothingness. The sudden, eerie quiet broken only by the rasp of Alastor’s breathing is somehow creepier than the whole ‘I’m gonna eat your soul and broadcast your screams’ thing. Angel slowly drops his hand, two resting on his hips as he looks the other over. Alastor’s a fucking mess. “... You’re a fuckin’ mess. What the hell did you take? You’ve been weird for days, y' know.” “Ohh, believe me. I am well aware,” Alastor growls, his ears flicking down and flat for a second before standing straight up again as he clasps his hands behind his back, smile not dropping for a second. Angel raises an eyebrow, and he watches with growing horror - and fascination - as Alastor clearly swallows before speaking.
