Thanks for clarifying. Seeing that Rebble is providing the API to access the apps archive clarifies what you meant by walled garden, and it would indeed make the most sense to upload this to archive.org instead of locking it behind an API. The Pebble app is closed-source, though, right?

It's not about licences.

Core needs to 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 that reassure us the Pebble ecosystem can survive 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘪𝘧 Core goes proprietary.

Eric's promises have been sincerely excellent, I love them, but he needs to better communicate what actions Core is taking 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘄 to 𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙚 an open ecosystem.
