On May 27 2025, these 3 MAHA/MAGA dudes took to X to say they were no longer recommending COVID vaccination in pregnancy
This was terrible advice:
First, pregnancy is a risk factor for severe COVID-19 (discussed at www.acog.org/womens-healt...)

It's hard to convey my disgust & moral outrage at Trump & Rubio for killing hundreds of thousands
My team at Duke has spent almost a decade studying the pros & cons of health aid, which has undoubtedly saved millions of live but has down sides. We have a policy paper out soon on the topic.

Gave a guest lecture on pandemics in David McAdams’ legendary undergrad econ course on game theory—ECON 390 "Games of Strategy"
He makes his classes FUN with music & literal games & prizes
We kicked off with a George Michael song—the lyrics are about game theory 🤪
No student had been born in ‘90!

We're a small team but I feel we punch above our weight :)

It’s the WaPo, lemme guess!
1. Dems risk alienating moderates at their peril
2. It would be wrong for Dems to conclude they should support trans rights
3. Nothing about last night’s results is a rebuke to Trump
4. Republicans hold key advantages nationwide
5. Higher taxes on NYC’s rich is bad!

I was an undergrad at Oxford University from ‘87-90, & went to a modern college (St Anne’s) that took lots of comprehensive school (aka state school) kids (like me!); it did NOT have dreaming spires
25 years later, Duke recruited me as a professor & I got my dreaming spires, ha ha ha

At 4pm ET, I'll spin some tasty tunes on the radio, at wxdu.org or 88.7 FM locally
There will be lots of new music, e.g., hypnotic jazz meets post-rock from The Necks, gnarly post-punk from Bad Trips, & uplifting electronica from HAAi
And classics from the likes of Chaka Khan & Rotary Connection

In a life cut so short (he died of cancer aged only 42), he burned the brightest star—essentially inventing ska with the group The Skatalites &, as a solo artist, releasing masterpieces of soul-reggae, rocksteady, funk & more
