Fantastic news! Starship Troopers is incredible; I must have read it 5 times at this stage and I’ve gifted it to around a dozen colleagues. IMO no fictional work explains the roles of NCOs vs officers better, and it’s a very enjoyable read in general! 🤓📖

New ‘Starship Troopers’ Movie in the Works from ‘District 9’ Filmmaker Neill Blomkamp (Exclusive)
Sony is behind the new adaptation, which is not a remake of Paul Verhoeven’s 1997 film, but rather will go back to the 1959 novel as source material.

Delighted to have an article published in the latest edition of the U.S. Army’s #MilitaryReview journal.

In it I discuss what leadership theories should be studied by commanders who wish to improve their knowledge and application of #MissionCommand

This is a fascinating listen. Retired #USAF Col Kim Campbell discusses almost being shot down over Baghdad in 2003 and having to land her heavily damaged A-10 Thunderbolt without electronics. ☕️🎧

Sporting metaphors and analogies used to motivate soldiers or simplify a tactical problem: Sometimes it works well, mostly it’s a shortcut for a commander to take instead of explaining the situation coherently to subordinates using correct military terminology.

“more intelligent people are better able to make decisions…simply because they're able to hold more complex information in their heads at any one point in time. The good news for the rest of us is that everybody can get better through practice.”

A great podcast 🎧

“Professional military writing is the way we share information…It's the way we drive bottom-up change, and it's vital if the army is to be prepared for the challenges of tomorrow's battlefield.”

Great listen on encouraging professional military writing.

1st post? Auftragstaktik quote! “The advantage of the situation will never be fully utilized if subordinate commanders wait for orders. Only if leaders of all ranks are competent for and accustomed to independent action will the possibility exist of moving large masses with ease.”-Helmuth Von Moltke
