So your saying its better to dig a massive amount of earth for a relatively small amount of lithium, then transport it, then process it, then use it for 5 years, than using an abundant source of energy on everyone's doorstep? I'm not convinced.

Hydrogen is cyclical, lithium is not, hydrogen is hanging in the air, we have oceans of it, the huge amount of earth that has to be moved to get lithium uses a huge amount of carbon, your battery isn't "green".
As for costs, they will fall, the same as your battery.
