No one thinks that if a convention was called tomorrow it'd turn out in our favor, but we need to reckon with the fact that the Constitution is structurally anti-democratic, and that the oligarchic political tendencies that it enshrines will enable this to keep happening again and again and again

It's the mechanisms of the Constitution that have enabled the GOP to take those steps, and the laws as written are the very thing that enforce the two party system.
