Right after I posted all of this, I saw people were posting about whether the Stranger Things creators were accidentally shown using ChatGPT in the recent behind the scenes documentary and how embarrassing that is... who knows. maybe I'm wrong thinking most of the audience doesn't care. I hope I am

So even though the analysis of what art means and what making art means posited by VT is something important to consider, and even though I agree that it's now more than ever that human art should emphasize that human uniqueness, I still wonder how the audience can be truly brought back to this side

From my perspective, AI cannot make better stuff than any human artist/enthusiast/student/amateur/whatever. It never could and it will never be able to. The real problem is something else VT says here: is the audience there to hear the music or to listen to it? If all they do is hear, AI is enough

I don't know...

...it's not that I disagree with the take, it's that the take's foundation is something I disagree with; but I do think the questions of the reasons one makes art, especially whether one does it for success and what "success" looks like to any given artist is pretty valuable
