I have seen, for a fucking *decade*, European designers/publishers putting racist and ableist tropes into games, and when I said something, been told to deal with it because “we see these things differently in Europe”

The whole debacle over Hans Im Glück trademarking the word 'meeple' should be a reminder that games companies are not your mates, they're not part of the community. The selection pressure on them is to generate profit, not to serve your best interests & they will continually optimise towards that.
