We are forever thankful we ended up in such an amazing neighbourhood over 20 years ago. Our neighbour up the road brought us this extraordinarily beautiful pear as a Lunar New Year gift, 'from my home country', he said. #Seollal

It's no secret I adore old #cookery #books. This example, 'The Household Searchlight Recipe Book' (with thanks to Laurel B.!), once belonged to a former in-law. Editions of the book were apparently published between 1931 and 1954, with its only competitor being 'The Joy of Cooking'. #foodhistory
