I lived in Scotland, which just happens to be where the British nuclear deterrent is based. The coal mine sirens were our warning system. Normally they would only sound when there was an incident at the mine, but sometimes, you didn't know.

Great film, pity it didn't inform the leaders about what could happen.

I remember living through the cold war and being told we have 4 minutes from when we hear the sirens. I hope it doesn't happen, but I'll stand under the nearest explosion to Hamburg, to avoid the aftermath.

Fortunately, I live in Germany, and my doctor has started the "new variant" vaccinations. I'll be getting mine when I come back from my plague island holiday in 2 weeks. We'll be wearing masks when we're there, and I don't care what anyone says about it.

My daughter works in the NHS, though . That's my main concern.

I was speaking to my daughter in Scotland, and she told me she was told she shouldn't have tested herself for Covid because they don't want the results to go up.

Hopefully, at some point in the future, 1 of 2 things will happen. 1, there will be another referendum, 2, Scotland will become independent and rejoin the EU. I CAN DREAM.
