Just two grumpy rescue dog and all their foster friends
The idealistic version of the US appears to be gone too if you look at the overall direction things are going, not just with Trump, but with the oligarchy that’s been brewing. I’d like to believe things will get better.

So why is one group a lost cause and the other isn’t?
March 10, 2025 at 9:34 PM
Nope. Not lost. Someone pointed out that you were separating Palestinians from Hana’s, but not Israelis from Bibi, and you said, yes, but Israel has had this government for decades and is doomed to be this way forever. Hamas has been in charge of Gaza for decades.
March 10, 2025 at 9:31 PM
Hamas has also been in charge of Gaza for decades. And their policies and priorities haven’t changed. So again, same thing.

What’s the point? He can’t be prosecuted. And honestly…at this point, if you trusted him, shame on you.

They were already breaking laws when they fired them. What would adding one more law do? This is political theater.

To be fair, this article is about closing the office of civil rights and equal opportunities. Which is bad. But it’s similar with what happened at other agencies. This isn’t a cut to services. Don’t get me wrong. I’m against it.

I heard DOD is firing two people to come up with funding for everyone that took the deferred resignation. This thing is a nightmare.

If he’s bringing in a private company and paying them there should be a competitive process for that. Once again, not only is he getting paid to solve a problem he created by firing hard working government employees, but he is lining his own pockets in a corrupt non-competitive way.
February 18, 2025 at 12:56 PM
So, first he fires everyone to create a problem, and then brings in his own company to “fix it” without the legal competition for government contractors. The corruption is incredible.

There are metal detectors…

The guy they put in charge in her place appears to be a GS15 employee. That’s like middle management. In charge of a small department. Did everyone senior refuse? Or did they pick this guy because of his politics?

SSA Hanes an incredible amount of data. To upgrade the system costs a lot of money, which would need to be appropriated. So far, that has not been funded.
February 17, 2025 at 8:05 PM
No, but it’s being used as a scapegoat to distract from the firings that have lead to understaffing and less safety.

This is my shocked face

I’m sure DOGE can just go through all the records they stole from OPM and treasury…I assure you employee contact info is in there…

The thing is nuclear energy specialists are not easy to replace. This could be serious FAFO. I’m guessing these are people that care too much about the safety of the world to play hardball, but they could.

You haven’t posted 1. I’m done with this conversation.

It says it’s the other goal. That doesn’t mean it’s effective or changes anything.
February 14, 2025 at 5:56 PM
Did you read this? The successful examples are nurses going on strike or airport workers. It says when tried in retail it didn’t work.
February 14, 2025 at 5:50 PM
I made a simple comment and you turned it into a raging argument. I think it’s important that we not delude ourselves. I’m done with this absurd argument.
February 14, 2025 at 5:43 PM
People used to actually fight for our rights. They weren’t afraid to be arrested or injured or killed. Now we are too scared to lose what we have. And I’m not saying I’m not scared too. But you can’t forget the actual sacrifices that were required to get what we have.
