"This is just a distraction!" Is such a crazy thing to say about something that is unequivocally very bad. Like. We can be mad about both things. We don't only have to be mad about one thing at a time, fam.

Wait, why are they bragging about that? If you have a PC with a decent GPU and about 30 minutes I could get you comfyUI and have you generating as many celebrities with corpses as you'd like. This is like claiming to have revolutionized sandwiches while proudly displaying a PB&J.

In the darkness I hear labubu muttering: "Wow! Dubai chocolate really is a creative choice! Dubai is known for its decadent capitalist culture. That coupled with the unique pistachio filling will absolutely get your message across! Way to go, you really are the smartest baby of 1996!"

This isn't your mom's labubu. This labubu also gives bad financial advice and whispers words of madness into your ear as you sleep.

Hasn't Mr. Beast sort of already done this to Jimmy Donaldson?

Everyone hates that Facebook engagement farmed people with ragebait, but they only adopted the dark. Places like twitter and Bsky were born in it. The hottest, most surface-level takes are rewarded and nuanced conversation is functionally impossible. Great for cat pics, bad for brain.

A core part of balatro community interaction is that everyone's favored playstyle is stupid and wrong, even your own.

Don't know Hank's kids, but based on the kids around me at the moment, something like this:

"Okay, first it, first it. So, first it comes down and, then first it comes down and then it's midnight first and then after that. It's midnight and then it comes down and after that it goes boooom."

Here's a hot take: none of the Ghostbusters movies are very good. The original relies on bland grossout humor that was popular at the time but has aged like wet dogshit. It's mainly nostalgia that keeps it in popular awareness.

Probably from hitting that Kirkalator. I don't think that thing gets washed.

Gotcha, I kinda figured but hoped I could save you a few bucks haha.

I grew up in a big "take your vitamins" family, and I was pretty frustrated when I realized we were probably just wasting money and time taking Emergen-C and multivitamins for nothing haha.
December 30, 2025 at 10:10 PM
You might be able to nix vitamins altogether. Obviously consult your doctor, but studies have shown that unless you have a diagnosed deficiency vitamin supplements provide no benefit to most people. Obviously I don't know your health situation, though, so do what's right for you.
Don't waste time (or money) on dietary supplements - Harvard Health
In 2022, Americans are projected to spend $35.6 billion on dietary supplements, even though there is little, if any, evidence of benefits. Loopholes in guidelines and clever marketing allow compani...

They blocked Shaun, so Shaun's repost gets removed. I wish Bluesky would maybe keep the text but remove the poster, but I understand their main goal is to prevent targeted harassment.

Therapy requires the patient to engage in good faith and be committed to improving. That being said: therapy is expensive and most people are probably not in it. Most people could benefit from therapy. Not all shitty people are abusers, and shittiness can come from problems therapy could help with.
December 29, 2025 at 10:06 PM
I will say: I read a book about abuse where the author points out that manipulators can use language learned in therapy to more effectively manipulate, and that for some people with abusive or manipulative tendencies abuser counseling is a more effective path to address poor socialization.

Some ideas:
"Book Burnsing"
"0th Degree Burns", if you're wanting to poke some fun.
"Burns the midnight oil"

I'm with others here, avoid making yourself out as a school, just for bad optics. Otherwise, you do you.

Bonus: If you ever do a live show circuit: "Burns Rubber"

They refused to air a documentary about how Lordgenome has trapped humans in subterranean bunkers in a vain attempt to hide them from the anti-spiral by dehumanizing them and suppressing their spiral power.

My improv friends would call that "juggling chainsaws". It's super dangerous, and even watching someone do it successfully can be a bad experience. As others have pointed out, the historical context makes it something to avoid. I appreciate you owning that it was a miss.

I talked to a coworker recently who was tasked with identifying uses for AI in my area. Every AI company he found was either a product that already exists but with an AI label or actual vaporware and we stopped looking. Despite that, he still said he's super hopeful about the tech. Blows my mind.

Sounds like his son got arrested on a murder charge. Really sad situation all around.

You're reading into things pretty deeply. We just don't have more information than that right now. Just because they don't mention things being stolen, for example, doesn't mean nothing was stolen.

What about this sounds like a hit? It's equally likely to have been a robbery gone bad.

I always get icks when I see people heavily involving their children in content. We're already forced to have so much of our selves online at any time, why would you want to force that on your child? I keep thinking about that live streamed birth and it fills me with a dread I can't explain.
