Jack snipe have been showing well from Bishop’s hide at Cley NWT this autumn. Great to eventually catch up with one today and spent an enjoyable morning sketching it along with 6 water pipits that dropped in. Quality!

Spent a lovely couple of hours watching waders at North Point pools, Wells. Highlight was 2 juvvy Temminck’s stints that suddenly appeared but didn’t stay long as flushed by a hobby. Garganey also in attendance

Unaware of an eagle as I got out my car for my Sunday morning swim…until a passing birder stopped and kindly offered me a lift. 20 minutes later I was watching Booted Eagle soaring over Muckleborough. Many thanks to birders who leant me spare bins and got me scope views👍

Came across 24 buzzards sat in a local potato field that was being prepared by tractors. Huge variation in plumages and great to watch them worming

Parkrun recovery interrupted by news from @britishbirder.bsky.social of a hawfinch down the road. Soon located 6 birds feeding like waxwings on yew berries. Brilliant!
