What’s Next for the ACC?

🔹 ESPN deal runs thru 2036, but FSU & Clemson now have options.

🔹 Could Miami, UNC, or UVA be next to explore leaving?

🔹 If FSU & Clemson bolt, does the ACC collapse like the Pac-12?

Is the ACC Dead by 2031?

FSU & Clemson aren’t locked in. By 2031, their exit fee is manageable.

If they get full-share SEC or Big Ten invites, they’re gone.

The ACC avoided collapse for now, but realignment isn’t over.

Exit Fees Drop, which makes it easier to leave the conference

🚪Old exit fee? $700M - nearly impossible.

🚪New exit fee? $165M in 2026, dropping yearly to $75M by 2030.

🚪Schools KEEP media rights.

FSU & Clemson aren’t leaving today, but their exit path is now wide open.

What's with the new revenue model?

💰 60% of TV $ based on viewership/postseason success

💰 40% still split evenly

Winners: FSU, Clemson, Miami, UNC 📈

Losers: Duke, Wake, BC, Syracuse, etc 📉

FSU AD: "All we ever asked for was a chance to compete nationally."

FSU & Clemson settle with the ACC, ending lawsuits in FL, NC & SC.

ACC’s Jim Phillips calls this “the next chapter,” but don’t be fooled—FSU & Clemson now have an easier path out.
