I had some difficulty last night explaining to a friend why I had an unopened tin of peas on my mantle piece inside a mini-saucepan. The blame rests with @fgb.bsky.social 🫵🏻

After exiting that other place (twiXter), I decided it was about time to create a visual presence on Instagram. A repository of things including snippets from the past and stuff yet to find itself in a gallery space. You can follow at link: www.instagram.com/garyshawvisu...

1998, the bi-centenary of the Irish Rebellion. My friends & colleagues at Centre Stage Theatre Co staged Jack Loudan's great 3-act play to mark the occasion. Later reprised for the opening of the Old Courthouse, Antrim - the scene of Henry Joy McCracken's supposed crimes.

2006 and planning for the restoration & development of Antrim Castle Gardens began to intensify. Traffic management was a challenge. This early option was ambitious with a new footbridge across the Sixmilewater River with the primary car park located beside Antrim Stadium accessed via Lough Road.

Dreadful news on the passing of David Lynch. My first encounter with his work was in my student days at a screening of Eraserhead in the old Metro Cinema in Derby. And what a lasting impression & screen legacy.

I think my older sis has suspicions that I'm some form of Buffalo Bill character in disguise. I knew she was going to ask for an explanation. No answer given. 🤫

Sad news yesterday on the passing of Jim Finlay, long-term financial backer of motorcycle racing in Northern Ireland. I read this wonderful extract from an interview with Jim talking about one of the many riders he supported, the late great Tom Herron.
