Use camera at full telephoto. Then photograph a tape measure at the same distance to know the width of the full frame. I use photo shop. The crop function will display the hight when adjusted for the width when the cropping is zero. Then I screen shot it.

We in the Methow Valley had a nasty summer in 2014. Huge fast moving fire, Carlton Complex Fire was followed by flash floods that took out every highway. #wildfire

This is the moment of contact as a RedTail hawk knocks a bald eagle of it's perch. The RedTail has both legs out and down and both wings up and out. It hits it with it's breast bone. #birder
