Biophilia, indeed.

It's hard to watch and endure the ongoing destruction of a planet entire—and at the same time having to deal with idiots wanting to just move to Mars or the Moon or whatever—the true face of psychopathic parasites: just destroy your own world and move to another. Rinse; repeat.

I usually find reposts annoying, but this shot actually gets better every time I see it. 😂

Nice shot. It's kind of painterly, and would look great on a white canvas. Reminds me of some of the Asian scroll art done with only a brush and a couple of colours on white paper.

I rarely post anything on YT either—occasional consumer. I tried to bludgeon the algo once, but the crap seems heavily weighted to whatever I last viewed, either in embeds or on the site itself (and the site itself is now an AI-encrusted fake user hellscape, not unlike 𝕏).

Glad it's working for you

YouTube becomes less useful each day, what with the flood of AI-gen'd content and the "wereallythinkyouwanttowatch*this*shitenow" algorithm. There's a real opportunity for a good competitor that can cut through all the dreck Alphabet/Google are currently slinging, but I fear the algo-godz will win.

Lovely. We get them here in the autumn and only tend to see them in the yard if they move; then you discover there's dozens of them pecking around in the dormant grass/clover. Surprisingly well–camouflaged.

Love the feeling of immersion in those shots, which is something that usually creates tension; here it's calming/pacific, somehow

I can unsee it, but it makes my eyes feel like their retinal cords are forking twisted like spaghetti.

Same. The irony is completely lost on them, however.

Nietzsche's warning is worth remembering, here: "Always reading, never to be read…" 😅

I visited for a couple of weeks in March, having left during The Troubles—found it to be *much* less sectarian than when I was growing up, but there will always be holdout bigots on either side …
