No debut? Or did you mix up the title with the live album? Also I need to listen to Acquiring the Taste more. For some reason I haven’t spent much time with it and I’ve been seeing it highly praised. 2 and 4 are probably top for me at the moment.

I am curious about your reasoning though. I could see such a thing eliciting an eye roll and McLuhan could definitely get a bit silly but “the quote” always seemed like a plain fact to me even if it is given exaggerated importance.

Usually considered to be the last great Stones album. Certainly great moments after but nothing as consistent. Top 5 probably.

Actually a lot of the new receivers come with phono preamps but they are really lacking. We’ve been using an old Marantz from the 70’s for this reason.

Correct. Some turntables have built in preamps which are not usually great but might be passable. You can also buy preamps that aren’t wildly expensive that sound good.
