Sorry to be a killjoy... Please reconsider and stop sharing the AnnabelLucindaClips videos of the dog, cat, and Chihuahua. There's 876K people followers on Facebook sharing these AI videos. Plenty of real and funny animal videos online but this performative generated AI slop distracts from them.

A #Predator pitch for @darkhorse.com back in the 90s with writer @corymacrae.bsky.social. I drew the piece and then Colin MacNeil did his colour magic. Sadly, Dark Horse passed. After Prey and Killer of Killers, and now Badlands we still feel this re-imaging of Perseus and the Minotaur has legs.

I was today years old when I realised this was NOT Julia Roberts but Brazilian actress Renata Sorrah.

Uhura has always been a favourite Star Trek character and plenty of love for Nichelle Nichols for her science advocacy. Here's my tribute from a couple of years ago.

Subnautica (2018)

Pat Presley: "I was really drawn to Luigi Colani, a German industrial designer, for his high-end organic shapes. Those forms are gorgeous, and I thought they feel quite friendly and would be fitting for Subnautica."

I love discovering the inspirations behind sci-fi designs. 🤷‍♂️

Happy Birthday God Tier composer and Cat Lady, Wendy Carlos. Thank you for your music and most especially A Clockwork Orange, The Shining, and TRON. The studio rings to your work today.
For groundbreaking synthetic music pioneer Wendy Carlos' birthday, enjoy her in her home studio with cats and friends

Listening to U2s third trilogy Achtung Baby/Zooropa/Pop with Glenmorangie and dark chocolate Hob Nobs. Whatever peoples feelings towards Bono's political stance there is no argument that they were on fucking fire for Boy/October/War, The Unforgettable Fire/Joshua Tree/Rattle and Hum and this trio.

I think @thespaceshipper.com will get a kick out of this one!

Also some images of the original movie model. I remember thinking that the look of that movie made it feel like it could take place in the Alien universe. Sean Connery in Outland wouldn't look out of place on the Nostromo

Great to see the shuttle in more detail here. Love OUTLAND but Peter Hyams/Stephen Goldbatt's cinematography is so dark throughout that we rarely get to see the production work including models or sets as clear as this. What a great reference.
Was going through old folders and found a model I'd done of the shuttle from Outland(1981)! I think it still holds up fairly well. I remember modeling it while I was still at Adidas doing footwear design and desperate to break into games.

Altered States, dir. Ken Russell. 1980.

Cinematography by Jordan Cronenweth. The new 4K restoration/remaster by Criterion is sublime and really shows off Jordan's work. Picture looks more filmic with less high contrast than previous editions. More natural skin tones too. Non-spoilery example shown.

Sad to hear of the passing of Jim Hamilton at 67. Jim and his business partner Kenny Penman [starting with the Science Fiction Bookshop and later Forbidden Planet] were a huge part of the Scottish comic community and industry along with AKA Book & Comics.

I'm done with Microsoft Entra. What a frustrating and stressful hassle this has been. While trying to find a solution to access my email I discovered Reddit and messages boards going back a couple of years with similar authenticator issues. Businesses unable to function due to these tech issues.

Stuck in a Microsoft Authenticator 2FA dead loop. Can't access my email account due to the authenticator forcing a verification check that can't be verified without access to the page itself which is blocked. Other options are for using the authenticator to verify. No SMS. No email. So frustrated.
