Full time carer, a little bit of local patch birding and photography to keep things sane(ish).
Same at Low Newton by the Sea... The amount of entitled dogwalkers does my head in ! I tend to focus on early morning/evening birding now to try and avoid them. 😞

Thanks Gav. The same tree had a Yellow-browed Warbler a couple of years ago, so Pallas's MUST be next ! 😆

This bird called 'hueet' too...

Had a pale/grey Chiffchaff on the patch recently, it brought back memories of this bird from 30th October 2021. I've only ever seen a handful of clean grey birds like this here; they seem rarer than the classic brown/white/buff tristis types. Wonder where they are from... 🤔

Interesting. No doubt the grouse shooting industry will seize this opportunity to declare themselves as the champions and saviours of the UK endemic Red Grouse ! Good nature conservation folk that they are...🤔

Love the paint job on that !

A couple of thoughts, sure you've considered these - try to keep sloping edges into the water very gentle to allow easy access. Keep shapes varied, more edge = more habitat/more feeding areas etc. Varying depths = more habitat diversity/potential for exposed mud etc.
