Kamala was right about everything.
Trump said it last summer and I think JD Vance publicly says it on at least a monthly basis at this point. So fuck these people and their double standards.

Has the podcast ever considered an episode devoted to former Jackson, Mississippi mayor Frank Melton? I think he’d be a great fit for NGNM. This gives some background—I know it’s Reason Magazine but Melton was objectively quite quite bad. reason.com/2007/10/22/t...

For members first elected before the 2012 elections, yes (on the 1.7%). Every other member from is on the same FERS formula the ordinary federal employee is. www.congress.gov/crs-product/...

Forgot Hal Rogers so make it 5.

You’re using the CSRS formula which only applies to maybe four current members (Hoyer, Kaptur, Grassley, and Chris Smith, off the top of my head) that were elected before the switch to FERS back in the mid-1980s.

99% of current members are on FERS where the benefit is 1%/yr, max 1.1%.

MTG’s didn’t either. She’s getting 1% of her congressional salary for each year of her service…if one could call it that.

There’s only a handful of members of Congress that will ever get “full pensions” and those are the ones that started before 1984 and who had 30+ years (2.7%/yr) of federal time.

Sort of this, but to do a statewide hand recount, for which there was no legal provision, the Gore campaign would have had to file recount requests in all 67 counties stating what the local problem was. They did the four Gore counties bc that was the most clear cut to argue, and the rest is history.

Same. Mamdani can theoretically change all of the policies I don’t like about him. Cuomo can’t change any of the things I don’t like about him, bc that’s just who he is.
