I need to know how to procure those incredible SW copies…

It’s console and PC.

I mean, if it ain’t broke… I was more referring to the events we haven’t seen them touch over yet that HiddenXperia and others has said makes for some really cool moments. What core systems that they’ve sorta copied do you feel could’ve been improved upon?

I believe the only part of the stream that was good was the almost raw gameplay highlight, rest was bad. Not saying it’ll change your mind, but you should watch HiddenXperia’s video on it. He’s been on this for 3 years and gives a more optimistic take hinting at some really cool stuff.

Bold statement from someone who hasn’t played it or has seen any of the events, the other maps, how the story unfolds through the terminal or factions, Easter eggs, or other things that have been teased but not shown yet. Not saying you’ll like it or should, maybe wait to see more before saying that

Btw, my last comment is about others coming to this ready to hate on it. Not you or SkillUp.
April 12, 2025 at 9:29 PM
Which is 100% a valid concern. I’ve seen a handful of people (ex. HiddenXperia) that really enjoys the gameplay loop, so I expect this to be mixed between critics. Not shocked by that.

Just weak to come to something expecting to hate it than being neutral to begin with but that’s the internet.

Yeah, I understand the people who don’t want an extraction shooter, but I’ve already seen far too many people pull the “this looks generic” when this genre is fairly untapped and it’s visually original.

It seems many scream they want originality but really don’t (or don’t know what they want).

I just did my first run and surprisingly understood it within 4-5 minutes. However, it was basically the ONLY thing I got successful in my 26 room first run. Idk why but it just clicked after a few tries.

I looked at this for like 20 seconds thinking the same thing

And big note: All of Skyfall was shot digitally. The difference is you have an artist using it as a tool, not a crutch to be lazy.
April 2, 2025 at 5:25 PM
The lack of Deakins in Spectre after Skyfall really showed you who the real MVP was.

Spoiler: It was not Mendes.

I think most devs don’t incorporate coop because of how demanding it is with current graphic powerhouses that’ve become the norm, so I’d assume it’s unfortunately a no.

Watched this for the first time in the past week. Tried Syndicate afterwards and dude… it is easily the best feeling AC game.

The world is barren, the characters are wooden with no single one to latch onto, Aloy isn’t horrible but she isn’t endearing, the map (tho pretty) is missing something, and the overarching plot takes way too long to get going which results in little to not payoff. Combats good tho but stealth sucks.

I don’t see how any gimmick can beat the convenience of these kids being able to play games on their phone, so what is it? The games. The market isn’t adapting to the younger generation. It’s much harder and I don’t have the answer, but I do believe we need system sellers to this gen, not gimmicks.
January 16, 2025 at 6:38 PM
Do you really think it’s the hardware or the software though? I think the big console games are what are driving the younger generation away, not the hardware. The mobile market has a big sell to kids (they already own the system) AND the experiences they want have followed (Fortnite, Roblox, etc).

I agree with the anecdotal evidence, but I still think there’s enough examples where there have been issues with the required Series S/X compatibility that it isn’t a slam dunk to get these games running well. Baldur’s Gate 3 and Wukong are good examples. This VRAM issue is gonna crop up more.
January 3, 2025 at 6:25 PM
Everybody has their own opinions on it but I’ve had a few friends who have or actively own a Series S. All of them switched over to a more powerful system after being extremely underwhelmed.

But Indy is a 1st party game, it needs to run well on those “exclusive” machines. Devs have a finite amount of resources, time, and money. You have to allocate those things and you’ll rarely ever hit every mark you’d like. The rampant amount of Series S games that suck show it’s low in priority.
January 3, 2025 at 5:03 PM
Equating an Xbox first party game made by an established 16 year old studio built around industry vets to a Chinese game studio with 2 releases nobody even knows about before their first AAA title is a stretch though. One is not like the other.
January 3, 2025 at 5:03 AM
Now that being said, it can also be true that this game is severely unoptimized.
