Yeah, it was a weird one haha. I remember tracking it down to watch it for Animated and then being very surprised when I looked at the other categories and it was there too. Good movie! It lost all three categories though.

Obviously a tiny tiny sample size and completely anecdotal, but as somebody from a Latin American country, every single person I've met in real life who's seen Emilia Pérez (some 8 or 9 people) has hated it

That makes sense. The play just doesn't have the same presence in most of the rest of the world. I know there's been some productions here and there in the rest of the world, but by and large it just doesn't have the same built in audience outside the US
