Maybe sending troops into your cities and having migrants disappear is disqualifying for the Nobel Peace Prize. 🤷‍♂️

Someone ask Jazz Chisholm Jr. if this is what he meant by "stepping on necks".

Someone ask Michael Kay about the run differential.

Dispatch from the Picketline Day 4.

Is it weird if I reply "Love you!!" to anyone honking in support?

Or "You too!" to anyone hollering for us to "get back to work"?

Dispatch from the Picketline Day 1 (well, 4).
Can't believe we have to do this again. It's hot. I'm sweaty after half an hour of standing. But at least I don't need 4 layers of clothes to be comfortable and can sleep at night like a normal.

@brentbutt.bsky.social Finally read (and finished) HUGE. Couldn't put it down for like the last half book.

Visual adaptation when? Can I audition? Even to sit in a bar scene?

I wish my riding didn't vote-split. I wish my MP, who has been a strong voice for Canadian workers, was able to pull through. Alas...
April 29, 2025 at 5:22 AM
Please, Carleton... do the funniest thing ever.
April 29, 2025 at 5:03 AM
Finally had enough and deleted my personal Twitter account last night. I feel a sense of release. The antics of people on there were affecting my mental health. Can't have that.

One day more...

Dispatch from the Picketline Night... um... I've lost count... 17 for me? Maybe?
It's cold. So fucking cold. I hate this. I want to be working. Come on, Canada Post... negotiate.
On the plus side, I'm wearing so many layers that I'm doing the best upper body workout of my life. Silver linings.

Dispatch from the Picketline Night 10
The snow comes down steadily, but our resolve remains. We're told this is "the home stretch"... God, I wish it to be true.

Dispatch from the Picketline
Saturday Rally
There's a rally today. Nothing as inspiring as hearing such support from government and union leadership.
November 30, 2024 at 5:36 PM
Dispatch from the Picketline Night 8
It's colder than your ex out here. Canada Post has been spreading lies about Union positions in the media, focusing attention there instead of good faith negotiations. Perhaps they should get visited by three ghosts in the night.

Dispatch from the Picketline Night 6
The strike has worn on, but the commitment wavers not. The corporation needs to negotiate though... they talk big, but don't live up to their words. Negotiate, don't legislate.
November 25, 2024 at 7:36 AM
Supposed to be cold as eff tonight. Got my layers ready... fighting for our rights was never going to be comfortable.
November 22, 2024 at 3:22 AM
Broke my vow and read some comments RE: the postal strike. Pleasantly surprised to see some people actually understand why we're out and show support and solidarity. As I prepare for a cold night, thoughts like this warm my heart.
November 21, 2024 at 3:46 AM
Dispatch from the Picketline Night 3:
As the strike enters its 6th day, there is a glimmer of hope that a negotiated settlement is possible. Support remains steady, and I'm getting better at not reading the comments on any platform.
November 20, 2024 at 7:36 AM
So we'll march day and night
By the big cooling tower
They have the plant
But we have the power.
November 20, 2024 at 7:34 AM
Dispatch from the Picketline Night 2:
More honks in support while the corporation tries more underhanded tactics to break our spirits. They should use that energy to negotiate in good faith instead.
November 19, 2024 at 5:36 AM
Picketing again tonight. Apparently, we have big speakers now. If there's karaoke, I may never leave. Time to brush up on Rage.
November 19, 2024 at 1:21 AM
Dispatch from the Picketline:
It's cold, but spirits are... maybe not "high," but mid-level. We hope for a contract soon, but are prepared to stand our ground. Safe working conditions, fair compensation. Come on, Canada Post. Negotiate in good faith.
November 18, 2024 at 5:37 AM
Tonight, I do something neither of my brothers, nor my father, have ever done...

Walk the picket line.

Tell Canada Post to negotiate in good faith.
November 18, 2024 at 1:29 AM
So what would you put on your strike playlist? So far I have selections from Rage Against the Machine, System of a Down, and Les Miserables.
November 13, 2024 at 2:40 PM
We gave 72 hours today. Looks like the strike is on.
