Am I happy to spend more than retail to support a creative project I believe in? Absolutely! But when a creator behaves badly and deprioritizes their backers, it would be nice to be able to warn future backers that this might not be the person to support at this phase.

A game developer I backed for $60 has had their game on sale in the main stores for so long that it has gone on deep discount twice (to $10-12), but they also still haven’t sent out codes or physical copies to backers. Every update they post, backers get more furious about the lack of delivery.

Currently, one creator I backed two years ago still hasn’t sent out his film (which has been finished and shown in festivals for about a year), but he spams a few times a week with project updates for his newer campaigns that aren’t super relevant. He is on Update 187 for his project 😵‍💫

“Tweeter representatives” is my new favorite way to describe that company’s employees.

I can think of very few problems that can’t be solved with large amounts of dancing.

I have a coworker who always reminds everyone else “assume good faith,” but then someone else tagged on “…or at least awkwardness.” Since that was said, “assume awkwardness” has smoothed over so many social bumps at the office. There is no malice in awkwardness.

I think that the main barrier to Bluesky is just velocity of the rollout. Threads landed in the lap of Instagram users and that made for a huge visibility and adoption move right from the get-go. I definitely hope that Bluesky takes off!
