yeah.. I used some cheapo light-weight wood namecard holders for character placards in our installed game, but I would have preferred a heftier solution - they worked for our case at the time though, as they were static

I've tried similar types of things and the vertical leverage of the card unfortunately makes it really easy to topple over. you could maybe do something like this by weighting it on the bottom with embedded lead disc? or entirely metal..

the even more advanced version of this is Washington DC where the unspoken agreement is to always stand to the right on escalators, it was bliss
