Pueblos indígenas desde Brasil a Aotearoa, África a Asia, trajeron su fuerza y su espíritu y nos recordaron que los Derechos de la Naturaleza implican Responsabilidades y Obligaciones: cuidar, escuchar, hablar por la Naturaleza y actuar guiadxs por nuestrxs ancestrxs.

Para celebrar los 15 años de la Alianza, más de 100 líderes, aliadxs y comunidades de todo el mundo cruzamos el río Guamá hacia la Ilha do Combú, en el corazón de la Amazonía.

Bailamos, compartimos música en vivo y recordamos las victorias que han dado forma a este movimiento global.

As we move forward, we honor this reciprocity and this way of seeing the world, with harmony, balance, and the unbreakable Laws of Creation and Nature.

Indigenous peoples from Brazil to Aotearoa, from Africa to Asia, brought their songs, their strength, and their spirit. They reminded us that the Rights of Nature are also about our Responsibilities and Obligations: to care, to listen, to speak for Nature, and to act guided by our ancestors.

En 2008, Ecuador hizo historia al convertirse en el primer país del mundo en reconocer a la Naturaleza como un ser vivo con derechos en su Constitución, inspirando al movimiento en todo el planeta.

Proposed constitutional changes could weaken Ecuador’s environmental protections, silence Indigenous voices, and dismantle one of the world’s most advanced Rights of Nature frameworks.

For nearly two decades, Indigenous peoples, environmental defenders, and communities have protected forests, rivers, oceans, and all beings under this groundbreaking constitutional vision.

In 2008, Ecuador made history as the first country in the world to recognize Nature as a living being with legal rights in its Constitution, inspiring the Rights of Nature movement across the planet.
