Take a word and make it FASHION! the word for this week was cells, I later found out the person who suggested it meant prison cells but I'd already done this collection inspired by the various parts of a human cell, maybe one day I'll revisit and do a prison cell collection.

I love a good textured fabric, so when I was working with this brocade I knew I had to do something that really plays up the texture and pattern, in the end I decided on a simple hoodie dress with sculpted shapes to create additional interest.

This dress, was made for a medieval fair event, whilst its not entirely accurate to history I had a wonderful time trying out some more traditional techniques with this one, including dyeing with tea and hand finishing the neckline and hem. #sewing #reenactment #costumedesign

The idea of this challenge was take a word that is not aesthetic and make it fashion "steamtrain" the prompt for this collection feels like cheating. Because while steam engines are in reality loud and dirty they are often portrayed as elegant and classy.

take the not at all aesthetic word "brick" and "make it fashion". I was really inspired by the building material element of bricks to design very structured garments for this collection and I took inspiration from traditional Mongolian garment construction to do so.
