Imo, no one should ever feel bad about mixing up the spelling of homophones. Spoken English doesn't think those two words need to have different forms, so written English can just chill out with the pedantry tyvm.

This characteristic seems pretty important to keep in mind when you're being told about test versions of genAI systems, or a proof-of-concept.

We are used to systems that have stable functioning: behaviour after a week predicts behaviour after a year. These genAI systems do not work like that.

And when made by other people, the art whose existence makes me happiest I had no idea I wanted before, because it could never have come out of *my* brain, or anyone else's but the person who made it.

I want something I could not have imagined on my own, and no LLM can give me that.

For the one hiring committee I've sat in on, the *only* characteristic that we were required to justify was in hiring a non-citizen.

Very in keeping with the "white guys' imaginary woes" phenomenon: complain you're being discriminated against while being oblivious to the rules in your favour.

Albertan independence people just crack me up. Like, you think it's hard to set up an oil pipeline through BC when you're both in the same country? Do you imagine independence will make that *easier*?
